Krissy and Nick here. We wanted to share our experience at Indian canyon Ranch a unique off-grid campsites with som glamping a truly memorable escape! Imagine this: a secluded haven nestled two miles off the main road, accessible by high-clearance vehicle (essential, especially in wet weather). Forget typical camping; here, you can choose your adventure! Pitch your own tent with all your sleeping anmd camping needs amidst the tranquil surroundings, or opt for the quirky charm of a renovated school bus, van, or trailer – each offering a unique character. While off-grid, these accommodations are equipped with solar power, providing lighting and phone charging capabilities. The communal area is a highlight: a well-maintained outdoor kitchen with a sink (water conservation is key, as Joe diligently carries it in), a propane camp cooktop (with some cookware!), and a generously sized fire pit with a grill top, complete with ample firewood. Port-a-potties and a shared, rustic outdoor shower are available. We stayed in the "Purple People Eater" trailer,(Well that’s what I called it) which was surprisingly spacious, clean, and comfortable. Joe's friendly, though his dogs reside at his separate home up the road. He adds a lovely personal touch with an honesty-based system for purchasing fresh eggs ($1 for two) and cold beers ($2 each) – a welcome perk after a day of exploring! While the location requires some effort to reach, the seclusion and unique experience are absolutely worth it. It's an affordable and unforgettable getaway for adventurous spirits. Just remember the four-wheel drive recommendation!
